Since I got some positive feedback, here's the first pic for you guys...a sweet moment between England and Little!America

This is from an older doodle in my sketchbook when I was first getting used to drawing the characters. So England's clothes may not be historically accurate as I was pretty much just going by the anime, but this is all just for fun though so have at it guys!

I left the image as a large as I could and as I've never really done this before I'm hoping the file doesn't give anyone any trouble...if you experience any let me know and I'll do my darndest to fix it

Oh, I know that our boys make it out in the end but you have a history of throwing curve balls, my friend

But I trust you, as those "curve balls" keep me coming back for more, lol

I must tell you that I completely daww-ed when Arthur gave up his blanket to Alfred and his whole inner monologue about how he just can't let go even after all this time really made me feel for him. It clarified for me at least his erratic feelings towards Alfred (one minute he's okay with him, the next he's 'bout ready to kill him, lol)...he never stopped being a parent, despite everything that's happened between them.

; Me and my curve balls~ XD I shall strive not to disappoint!

Homigoodness, that scene was rewritten no LESS than 4 times. oTZ I just could not seem to get it right no matter what I did, but I am pleased with how it finally turned out

. Yeah, Arthur never quite had the peace of mind needed when he lost Alfred for good; as I was telling Papa Jack: Arthur didn't take to loosing his parental status very well and has both a tremendous sense of lingering responsibility and...a kinda inability to fully see Alfred as capable of growing up. Arthur is consciously aware that Alfred is an adult now, his own nation and painfully aware of his independence, but he subconsciously cannot let go of the centuries of memories he has where Alfred was so completely DEpendent upon him. Its a terrible situation where Arthur honestly cannot let go of how many times Alfred would have been hurt or worse without him, and now in this situation of war - all of Arthur's previously conditioned instincts to protect his son are returning full force, and getting worse every time something major happens. I hope it shows how much Arthur really is descending in this story, as on the opposite end Alfred is progressing. Yes, Alfred has moments where he reverts back to dependency of Arthur, but its not because he consciously sees Arthur as his father any more (though subconsciously its there), but as his only immediate ally, his senior, and more so than anything his only constant in a foreign place that's constantly changing around him. Deep down there's that seeded and immediate draw towards Arthur that he's kept since childhood, but now he wants to be Arthur's partner more than his son or subordinate. He wants to help Arthur and gain his respect, as much as Arthur has helped him and thereby gained his again.

We'll see how this turns out since the greatest tests for both are still to come. This story has passed its halfway mark, but we're not quite to the end yet. ;D Consider this Act III. The final act...I promise, will be a doozie~

You've pretty much pegged how I view their relationship as well. I really do like this up and down dynamic you have going with them and its this character development that I look forward to when I read this fic (or any other within this universe of yours). Even though you both deal with the same set of characters (mainly FACE family), in yours I feel like I've grown to know Arthur a lot better as a person with all the internal turmoil he puts himself through and how he is able to adapt to a changing world. In Kitak's, this would be the same with her version of Matthew. (and I love both your Alfreds, lol, that's a given for me

)

I honestly didn't know how people might receive my ideas of the FACE family dynamic or the individual characters themselves when I first started writing...but I'm super happy its been so well received! Arthur is an especially interesting character to write, and to be frank he's one of the more difficult ones for me (unlike Alfred, who 9 times out of 10 just flows XD). I will NEVER be able to write a Matthew like Kitak (I absolutely adore hers in every way, shape and form); I admire her characterizations so much I shamelessly claim the title of fangirl. oTZ So in love with her work...I can't even begin!

I'm 6 pages in to the next chapter and feeling really good about NOT waiting 3 months to get this one out! XD Godspeed in turn!

How do you manage to churn out so much CUTE?! Seriously, this is adorable. I love it!

I really want to color this now, though I don't know when I'll be able to find the time. I shall defiantly keep it in mind, though.
