I've been wanting to color this sketch for a while since I felt it would lend itself well as a practice in dramatic atmosphere : lots of shadows, focused lighting, etc. With this I was really trying to push myself not to be afraid adding shadow; I sometimes find when working in color that I tend to not have a set light source and put shadows kinda wherever. So hopefully I've stepped in the right direction with this one

And now that I read the comments below, I see that I'm not the only one who this is their head cannon....
It's true that a lot of us see him like this. He just can't be that happy and ignorant knowing what his people and country are going through.
Besides, there's nothing wrong with an angsty Alfred pic every now and then.
