Ok guys I need some help. For the 100talia challenge group I need some more ideas. I've got a list started (and already submitted my first entry) but it's severely lacking. I'm trying to get some good historical/non-military costumes in there as well as stuff that's not just vocational outfits (think janitor or bus driver) And a few fantastic things wouldn't hurt either ;) But I'm open to all ideas!

I'll add more to the list as I go but for now, here's what I got (some things may need explaining which I will be more than happy to :))

Heads up: you've got 1960's Hippy twice. ;)
How about fireman/firefighter whatever you call it? :iconhurrhurrplz: I simply had to.
Perhaps something Disney inspired - Walt Disney was American, right? :?
You could do a Halloween outfit; I've heard it's a huge deal in the States.
Ooh! Astronaut! I know you've got Space Cowboy, but something to do with the moon landing and the Apollo program would be cool.
In case you hadn't guessed, this is all guesswork - I'm British. :XD: And I'll calm down now.

....good god you're right :iconheaddeskplz: Don't know how or why I did that ^^;

I do have Disney Hero down for one of the guises, like one of the princes or other male leads (and yes Disney was American ^^) We do like Halloween here, lol. Apparently we need something to celebrate in October :D I could do the outfit Himeruya put him in (the hockey masked chainsaw wielder)..... :hmm:

As for firefighter and astronaut, I'd considered them, and I'll probably end up doing them, but in my feeble attempts to be different I was hoping to do less vocations and I guess more "costumes" you'd call them? Lol, I just like making things harder for myself I guess :D

Lol it's okay I appreciate it! And thanks for the ideas

To be honest when I first joined the group this was one of the pics I was thinking of XD

By the way, the reference to Alfie the Hamster (as my readers seem to call him now)...you'd be better off giving them the title of the reference rather than the number, since I repeat the numbers ;) Or, send them to the Charlie the Hamster lineart.

Ok, so the title of the piece should be "Alfie the Hamster"? I try not to put the numbers as titles, just in the description so people know which one on the list it is. Or should I not do that either? And I was gonna put the link for Charlie the Hamster too :)

Oooh! sounds cool. I just compiled a list in my brain and will proceed to dump it at you.

Hippy
Rave-er (not sure about the word)
Nyotalia & 2P!Nyotalia: [link]
(Going with the theme^) Southern Lady
King of Spades: [link]

I'm sure I'll think of something else later, also.

Thanks for the suggestions :) I'm still debating on the Nyotalia since I'd like to focus more on male America. But I have a lot to go so you never know. I like Hippy though, would be a good challenging one (wanna avoid the whole drug part of the culture, for sure)

Anything you can think of would be a great help :)

The locations for some of the pictures are given - but if I recall correctly, it's mostly the pictures on the second page that were taken in the States. A lot of the ones in the first page are Canadian.

Woah, geez, that's a lot, lol but there are some great ones in here :) (have you been holding on to these ideas or something? lol)

How did I not think of archeologist??? :iconheaddeskplz: That's like one of the most Alfred-esque guises out there!

I totally know who I could dress him as for Disney hero (and I'm not tellin' :D)

I'll do ballet dancer just because you suggested it XD and figure skater while I'm at it!

Not sure about 2P design...I've finally seen what it looks like from what others have drawn and I'm not really liking it, at least as what it suggests his personality to be

But thanks for these, they've gotten the creative juices flowing :D

Thx. :meow: Glad you got some you could use. (Nah, not really. Just thought 'em up. :XD:)

Indiana JONES. =D Cracks me up every time. :XD:

Awww. :( But I wanna know!

lol - Better make it Princess Tutu-esque while you're at it. ;)

Well, that's only the commonly accepted fanon. There is no canon 2P personalities for any of the characters. I think they're supposed to only be the OPPOSITE personality of the original. That really doesn't necessarily mean evil. But if you don't want to, that's fine. =D

You're quite welcome!

Lol, yeah, I can't help but think Alfred had a hand in that XD ("Ya know, 'Jones' would be an awesome last name for that guy." ~pff)

Don't worry you'll get to see it :D Once summer's here I'll be able to tackle a lot more of these head on :) (on a side note, I've made a list of a few songs and characters we could use for that MAD if you were still up for it.)

Ha, I should! XD (not sure how much of it you've seen but I got a really hilarious image in my head, lol)

Oh, I knew there weren't any official ones for the Allies, I'm just not too fond of what the fandom's done to make ones for them. (From what I know, the 2P's were just supposed to be a different color/design scheme for the characters, not a personality change)

Yay! (:omg: GAAAAH, I forgot all about that! Thank you for the reminder to get my rear in gear and post my own never-will-be-finished MAD. :) And I can't wait to see what you've got on that list. ;))

Um... Would you believe I haven't seen a single episode? ^^; All I know about the show is from a couple reviews and AMVs, TVTropes, and various pictures here on DA. :blushes:

Hm, well, if you wanted, you could just have Alfred in that design, but going all "Oww, my head. What did I DO last night...? Hey... why can I see without my glasses? Do I have contact lenses in? And *catches sight of self in a reflective surface* ALRIGHT! Who was fooling around with the hair dye, gorramit?! Do you know how HARD it is to wash that stuff out?!" so people know he's the original, just in the alternate design. That is, if you were still kicking around the 2P idea. If you really don't want to do it, then by all means, do something else. =D

You may be surprised by Princess Tutu, if that AMV you had put in your journal a while back is anything to go by. Despite the moe looking characters and rather wacky costuming at times, I find it really beautiful and perfectly captures that Grimm's fairytale look they seem to be going for (there are even some animal characters and the human ones don't even blink at it XD). And, being Grimm-inspired it does explore some of the darker themes you'll find in the old tales all told with numerous ballet references, lol. Magical girl it may be but it certainly comes at across as being quite different, and in my opinion, better :) *ramble over*

That may be a good idea actually...:iconcutethinkerplz:

It was just something that came to my mind when someone (I think it was X-I, but don't take my word for it) suggested that Matthew would fit as one of them. And I was like, "Euh...I like him as a Ranger more - but now that I think about it, that'd work for ALFRED."

^^; Oh, I'm going to be terrible and throw in some really near and dear to heart suggestions (i.e. biased):

-Doctor
-Paramedic
-Sheriff/Policeman (Though I love the 1890s uniforms -I assume you mean the ones from the departments of the northeast, since they were the most formal in appearance- there's something about the modern day ones and a tact belt and vest that's just AWESOME! XD)
-U.S. Marshal
-Firefighter
-Architect

Oh...XD and I see Alfred as an Airbender. MAN LOVES TO FLY!

Biased they may be but I still thank you for them! :D I do have RN up there as far as medical vocations is concerned, but I can definitely see Alfred in every single one of these...very surprised I didn't think of architect D8!! Guess I was trying to do less vocation and more...I don't know something ^^; lol

As for the policeman I can easily do both :) For the 1890's one I saw an illustration of Theodore Roosevelt dressed in one and I immediately wanted Alfred in one, so yeah it would be the northeast department uniforms. For the modern day one though is there any specific department you'd like to see? Like a certain city, or just in general?

Oh yeah! Airbender is definitely right up his alley, but I can see him as an Earthbender too, mostly because of his strength but also for his agricultural beginnings. I personally believe he has the best garden outside of Arthur's ;) (and he grows a lot more veggies too, he may be a meat person but Alfred just likes food in general! :D)

XD I saw that was LOVED it~ RNs are really bedside care type jobs, more so than Doctors...but I do like their lab coats. ;D Heck yeah, I could see Alfred as an architect! ^_^ I've always seen him as someone really into building, designing and craftsmanship~

8D OH, DUDE, THAT'S AWESOME! Dude, based off President T. Roosevelt's image? ...XD I cannot BEGIN to describe how much I love that~ O.O A specific department? ...o////o Oh gosh, um...Well...our most FAMOUS departments at the L.A., NYC, Boston and Chicago...BUT, Boston is the oldest and was actually our first here in America. :) Boston is very integrated into America's history, and as it is the city of our first formal department and oldest police force, XD I'd go with that one!

That's a fantastic head-canon and I really like it! I'd have to agree that Alfred's got one heck of a green thumb, but as he doesn't have the kind of patience (or attention span) of Arthur, I can see why Alfred's garden wouldn't be totally on par with Arthur's. XD Those make a good argument to make him an Earthbender...^^; ah, but I'm still so partial to an Airbender for him. Call it the romantic in me. XD

Yeah :) I get Smithsonian magazine and I just happened upon the image for an article and went "Yes! This!" and wrote it down. :D

Ok so Boston it is then, and it looks like I may be sticking with just Airbender then, lol, I've gotten more votes for that one since he is our resident flyboy as you said ;) (I totally believe he and Aang would get along, their personalities are so similar :D)

Historical ideas, eh?

I think I've got some, historical and otherwise:

- Boston Tea Party (the idea of him being in colonial dress, but still being dressed up as a Native)
- Puritan (would be a chibi design)
- Civil War (you could do both the Union and the CSA)
- Pirate (why? Just because.)
- Na'vi from James Cameron's "Avatar" (That's something that I suspect Lichtherz wants as many of us to try as possible)
- Any cross-over ideas you can come up with.

Thanks for the suggestions :) I'd actually considered some of these but was wary since most of them had been done before...but I may just do them anyway :p The Puritan one is a great idea, though, you don't see that many of him in that kind of dress.

Na'vi, huh? Definitely hadn't thought of that one. I wasn't really a big fan to be honest ^^; but we'll see :)
